Inktober challenge - 31 illustrations based on different philias
Pyrophilia - fondness of fire
Ornithophilia - fondness of birds
Bacillophilia - Fondness of microbes
Cymophilia - fondness of waves/wave-like motions
Along with Storge, Eros and Agape, Philia is one of the four ancient greek words for love. It is often translated as "friendship" or affection. Clinically philias tend to discribe excessive or unhealthy affection to the point of obsession. Mild phillia's are just as common however. You might even go so far as to call any form of affection towards something a filia. I wanted to explore playing with colour and light, using markers. To me this series is all about joy.
